Dear Erec Rex Fans,

Remember the game of springball… a brilliant game where the people are the balls?  From Kaza Kingsley’s famous book Erec Rex The Dragon Eye, here is how springball is played.
To begin, the people take the place of the balls.  The balls or people, try to get in each other’s trap or a hoop above the trap which would give them extra points. There is one ‘ball’ on each team.  The teams have to stay out of their own traps, players of this game have to be great gymnast; this game takes a LOT of muscle.  To protect themselves they wear padding that allows them to bounce. It is round as in the shape of a ball.  They have springs on their bottom and their head.  Around the field there are nets, walls, holes, and other obstacles to get around.  A batter, a person with a rubber club, tries to knock the human ball away if the other team gets them.  Guarding the hoop and trap with either a large racket or their own body is the trapper.  There are also four bouncers on offense, and three guardians on defense.  It is three points for getting your ball in the trap and six for going through the hoop. It is five if you get the other team’s person in their own trap, and ten for getting them in their own hoop.  It is one of the greatest games in Erec’s world.

Please don’t tie springs to your heads and bottoms (I don’t want you to get hurt),  but how could we play Springball in your world?
