As we all know Kaza Kingsley has been looking into the posabilaty of making Erec Rex in to a magor motion picture. And now Erec is getting closer and closer to the big screen because Kaza has chosen an offical movie agent by the name of Joel Gottler! Right now I have found no pictures of him but I am still researching so if you find anything about him e-mail me!

Dear Erec Rex Fans,

Remember the game of springball… a brilliant game where the people are the balls?  From Kaza Kingsley’s famous book Erec Rex The Dragon Eye, here is how springball is played.
To begin, the people take the place of the balls.  The balls or people, try to get in each other’s trap or a hoop above the trap which would give them extra points. There is one ‘ball’ on each team.  The teams have to stay out of their own traps, players of this game have to be great gymnast; this game takes a LOT of muscle.  To protect themselves they wear padding that allows them to bounce. It is round as in the shape of a ball.  They have springs on their bottom and their head.  Around the field there are nets, walls, holes, and other obstacles to get around.  A batter, a person with a rubber club, tries to knock the human ball away if the other team gets them.  Guarding the hoop and trap with either a large racket or their own body is the trapper.  There are also four bouncers on offense, and three guardians on defense.  It is three points for getting your ball in the trap and six for going through the hoop. It is five if you get the other team’s person in their own trap, and ten for getting them in their own hoop.  It is one of the greatest games in Erec’s world.

Please don’t tie springs to your heads and bottoms (I don’t want you to get hurt),  but how could we play Springball in your world?

Kaza herself announced on the Erec Rex forums that Erec Rex has been bought by Simon and Schuster, the publisher for The Spiderwick Chronicles. They have decided to rerelease the books by end of March early April. They have also decided to change the covers, which pushes the Book Three release off until late summer. They have decided that they will also change the cover art for ‘The Search for Truth’, which is not yet available to the public, this is Kaza’s full post :

I have some BIG news! I want to announce this first here, on my forum, where I’ve had the great pleasure of getting to know some of my best fans. As you probably saw on the home page of ErecRex.com, in the Archives of Alithea News, Erec Rex was recently bought out by Simon and Schuster. This is really great news, but it does change the schedule of how things are happening with the Book Three release. BUT before I tell more, I will say that I’ve been brainstorming what to do about that, and I have some really exciting ideas! Okay, the great thing about Simon and Schuster taking over the series is that they are really BIG and they will do a great job of spreading the word about Erec Rex far and wide. And, as far as movie deals – this ended up changing my movie agent, and I’m now with the group who did the Spiderwick Movie deal. So it’s looking better and better! The only thing is that Simon and Schuster is going to put out Books One and Two again at the end of March or early April in paperback, which pushes the Book Three release off until late summer. The look of the books will be different, but still have the same basic art. Believe me, it’s as hard for me as for anyone – it’s been finished for quite a while and I can’t wait for it to be out! I’m hard at work on Book Four now! BUT there is a good side – it allows that much more time for more people to catch onto the series. I hope that by the time Book Three is out the series will be even bigger. BUT I had to do something for you, my incredible fans, that have been waiting eagerly for Book Three. I’m going to put a series of contests up on this forum site that will let people win signed copies of the first two books, other signed items, and …. yes, early copies of Book Three! I like to think of this as Erec’s contests in Book One, but hopefully much less dangerous. :} Anyway, keep an eye out for contests to start SOON! I’m really excited about it. I’ll be posting this on my blog page soon, and other places. But you heard it here first! There is a countdown timer going for Book Three on the fan pages.
